Shawfire (aka DJ C-BOY)
Hard and Dark are the flavours for this Perth DJ. Mixing Bassline driven Hard Trance, Tech/Trance and Hard NRG.
Predominantly listening to heavy metal during my teenage years Dance music was the last thing on my mind. In fact the very thought of this was enough to make me cringe. That all changed at the age of 17 when a friend took me out on my first clubbing experience to DC's.
The vibe, atmosphere and general love for music in the place was the first thing i noticed as the tunes provided by resident DJ's Big Mac, Lilly and Dirty Den manged to strike a chord inside me.For the next five years those sounds and scene consumed my social landscape as i, with best mate in toe followed these DJ's around the Perth Niteclub scene. Particularily Dirty Den who after that first night became my initial source of inspiration.
I often dreamt about what it would be like to be that guy up the front of the club connecting with the audience through the mutual love love of music. But without any knowledge or concept on how to make that happen the dream became a blurred vision that started to fade. That is until close friend DJ Megsy invited me to stay with him for a week at his Albany home and teach me the basics on how to mix. As soon as i got behind the decks i was hooked! being able to express myself through music was what i wanted to do.The dream slowly became a reality and with the help of a close nit group of friends i was on my way.
For me its all about the music. To watch the reaction and allow people to connect just as i did in those early days is the best reward of all. Wether that be in front of hundreds of poeple or just in the bedroom with a few mates, its a great feeling and something i certainly cherish!
