After building up the business for the last 3 years (yes we have been open for almost 3 years), we now feel organised enough to send out a newsletter, thank you for your patience. In the last 6 months we have updated the computers – they now have nVidia Graphics cards and more RAM for quicker browsing – got more chairs and have even got some real coffee cups. So, if you haven’t been in for a while come down and see us between 10am and 6pm Monday to Saturday.
12 Tribes #4…… We are still in the planning stage for the 3rd Birthday Celebrations after the link up with “Second Life” last year. We will be having the party in September, more info on that in the next newsletter.
New Business Cards Scott Mellor of neighbouring business Think Tank Design 225 Oxford Street has just designed new business cards for the shop. Scott is a talented graphic designer working mainly in the music sector who also runs the Dorcia club night upstairs at the Leedy on Fridays. www.thinktankdesign.com.au

Etchi I was introduced to Welli - the creator of Etchi - by Petar of Teknoscape and was blown away by his creativity.
Check out www.myspace.com/etchi to view some of his artwork. We have been promoting his t-shirts in the shop for 2 years. Look out for his posters with some new graphics and a new range of shirts which are 100% custom made here in Perth
NI Traktor Scratch In addition to the Technics SL 1200s, the Denon CDJ 5000s, we now have Traktor Scratch in the DJ Booth. The Powerful Mackie d4 mixer is Traktor Scratch certified with a built in Sound Card. What does this mean? It means that you can download your MP3 and mix them with the time coded vinyl – nu skool with the feel of old school. And with the Aussie Dollar at an all time high, new releases are available for under $3, Beatport has never looked more inviting………
Beatport Appreciation Page I thought it was about time someone posted up a Beatport appreciation page on Teknoscape! You can read the full post and all the replies here…..

For those who have been living under a cabbage leaf or still can’t get to grips with the fact that Digital will supersede, (controversial statement) but for now will complement vinyl (my UN approach), as the weapon of choice. Here is an overview of what is Beatport (thank god for Wiki). Beatport is a US-based online music store located in Denver Colorado that specializes in electronic music, dance music and remixes. Beatport offers new releases, classic and exclusive tracks, all of which are categorized by genre, such as house music, trance music and techno.
